Use the train like a mobile office - send and receive your emails, download small to medium file sizes to read and edit, browse the web, and communicate with your colleagues and customers via Skype or WhatsApp.

Each passenger will be capped to 250MB per boarding to ensure the quality and speed of the connection is not compromised for other passengers.

To access the train WiFi you will need to select 'TeHuia WiFi' from your network options.

This will open a Login window where you'll need to enter in your email address and your session will begin.

Please note that your email address is captured to ensure no-one exceeds their allowance or breaches our safe internet guidelines.

Luggage Storage

Storage spaces for luggage are available on multiple carriages onboard, however this is used on a first-in-first-served basis, and passengers are encouraged to monitor their stored luggage while onboard - the train crew does not take any responsiblity for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property.

Unaccompanied minors

In line with other public transport services, Waikato Regional Council allows unaccompanied minors to travel on Te Huia. However, please note that we do not provide an assisted service like Air New Zealand. If we are made aware of an unaccompanied minor travelling in advance, we are happy to inform the train staff for that particular service or services, but please be aware staff will not take responsibility for them over and above any other passenger.

If you have an unaccompanied minor/s travelling on the train, we recommend they travel with a mobile phone or have a list of contact names/numbers with them in case an adult caregiver needs to be contacted. If you would like to discuss this policy with us or let us know when an unaccompanied minor is travelling, please email us at tehuiatrain@waikatoregion.govt.nz.
