‘Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion’
Terms and conditions
The Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion begins at 12:00am on Friday 4 April and closes 11.59pm on Monday 7 April 2025. This promotion is coordinated by Team Te Huia on behalf of Waikato Regional Council, in cooperation with KiwiRail.
Entry
The participant enters the Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion in accordance with these Terms and any Promotion Specific Terms below:
To participate in the Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion, the Participant must:
— be resident in Waikato, New Zealand;
— only one entry per person;
— by entering, the participant agrees that their parent/legal guardian permits them to enter, and agrees their competition entry and first name may be used in social media posts by Te Huia.
The participant may only enter the Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion once and additional entries submitted by the participant will be deemed invalid.
Entries for the Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion must be received by BUSIT within the promotion period.
Conditions of entry:
Any entry that:
— is received outside of the promotion period; and/or
— has not been submitted in accordance with these terms and Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion specific terms; and/or
— is a duplicate or otherwise incomplete, incorrect, or illegible will be deemed invalid, at the absolute discretion of Team Te Huia; and/or
— uses or includes any copyrighted or royalty-paid design elements, logos or artworks will not be eligible for entry.
Entries are accepted at the time of receipt by Team Te Huia. Team Te Huia are not liable for any entries not received for any reason.
Team Te Huia assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
Prize(s)
Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion prize(s) are defined as;

Each bag includes:
- 2x Return passes
- 1x Adult hat
- 1x Kids hat
- 2x Coffee cups
- 1x Pack of cards
- 1x Tshirt (you choose the size and colour)

2. Onboard Birthday Giveaway – Monday 7 April 2025
Each trip on Monday 7 April will have 4x spot prizes to giveaway
These will be distributed at random by members of our KiwiRail crew.
Each bag will have a random selection of Te Huia merchandise, including t-shirts, hats, coffee cups, free passes and $25 Prezzy Cards.
Valued: Over $55 each
Prize winner(s)
The Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion winner(s) shall be determined in the manner set out in the following promotion specific terms;
The prize winner(s) shall be contacted via the social media channel and account used at the time of entry.
Team Te Huia reserves the right to determine a new winner(s) or forfeit the prize where, after two (2) attempts (within 5 business days of the winner being determined), and has been unable to contact the winner.
The prize(s) must be taken as offered, cannot be redeemed for cash and is neither transferable nor exchangeable, except at the Team Te Huia’s sole discretion.
If the prize winner(s) does not accept the prize, the prize will be forfeited, and BUSIT reserves the right to determine a new winner.
Team Te Huia is not liable for any prize that may be lost, stolen, forged, damaged, or tampered with in any way after it leaves our possession.
Team Te Huia’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The participant acknowledges that the Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with any retail service provider. The associated brands included in the prizes have no official affiliation with Waikato Regional Council or KiwiRail.
Use of personal information and consent to publicity
By entering the Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion, the Participant agrees that the Promotor may use the Participant’s personal information:
— to carry out the Te Huia 4th Birthday Promotion, including determining and notifying the winner(s);
— to provide the prize to the winner, including, where required, disclosing that information to the supplier or sponsor of the prize and/or regulatory authorities; and
— for marketing, promotional, publicity, research, and profiling purposes.
By accepting the prize, the winner’s parent/guardian agrees their child’s first name, school and/or photograph being used for such publicity purposes as reasonably determined by Team Te Huia, including publication on the BUSIT website and/or social media accounts. The winner’s parents/guardian agrees to make themselves reasonably available for this purpose, without compensation.
