Connecting to Hamilton Transport - BUSIT
Rotokauri Station:
For the best options for bus connections in Hamilton we suggest transferring at Rotokauri - there are limited transport options from Frankton Station.
From Rotokauri you could transfer to the Meteor (west to east), Orbiter (clockwise or anticlockwise) or 9 Nawton bus at the Rotokauri Transport Hub.
Across the platform bridge at The Base bus hub you can catch the Comet (north to south), 1 Pukete and 18 Te Rapa buses too.

Frankton Station:
The Hamilton Transport Centre is an easy 15-20 minute walk along the Western Rail Trail - or private transport can be arranged from here.
Connecting to Auckland Transport - AT
Papakura Station
Nine bus connections are available here.
If you are transferring onto an Auckland Transport service at Papakura, the total journey from Rotokauri to Britomart in Auckland will take an estimated 2 hours 35 mins (subject to the transfer time at Papakura). Te Huia services on public holidays
Please note that Te Huia will not be running on the following dates:
HOLIDAYS CLOSURE 2024/25
- Christmas, New Year and Auckland Anniversary Weekend | CLOSED Wednesday 25 December until Monday 27 January
Normal services will resume Tuesday 28 January 2025
Between 25 December 2024 and 27 January 2025 essential upgrade work will be taking place on the Auckland network to prepare for City Rail Link to open in 2026. The tracks between Auckland Strand Railway Station and Hamilton are closed for train travel for this portion of the line while the Rail Network Rebuild work takes place.
Te Huia will not run on public holidays (actual or observed) and statutory days due to regular track maintenance.
Please note: Stage 4 of Kiwirail’s Rail Network Rebuild is now underway from May 2024 - January 2025, resulting in changes across the Auckland rail network (when using AT rail services).
