The service has an estimated running time of 2 hours 30 minutes from Frankton to The Strand.

Servicing Pukekohe Station from Monday 10 February 2025

NOTE: Te Huia is no longer servicing Papakura station from this date. Please access Te Huia services at either Pukekohe or Puhinui stations.

Peak times for Te Huia are from 6am-9am and 3pm-6.30pm during weekdays.

Rotokauri Station:
For the best options for bus connections in Hamilton we suggest transferring at Rotokauri - there are limited transport options from Frankton Station.
From Rotokauri you could transfer to the Meteor (west to east), Orbiter (clockwise or anticlockwise) or 9 Nawton bus at the Rotokauri Transport Hub.

Across the platform bridge at The Base bus hub you can catch the Comet (north to south), 1 Pukete and 18 Te Rapa buses too.

All of these buses connect to the central Transport Centre, except the Orbiter.


Frankton Station:
NOTE: No direct transport options are available from Frankton station. The nearest bus stop is a five minute walk to Queens Avenue, which is serviced by 3 Dinsdale and 19 Bremworth/Temple View services during normal business hours.

The Hamilton Transport Centre is an easy 15-20 minute walk eastward, along the Western Rail Trail footpath - or private transport can be arranged from here.

Pukokohe Station
Bus: Eight AT bus connections are available here, as part of the New Network for Pukekohe and Waikuku.
Rail: Connect to the Southern line from here.

Puhinui Station
Bus: Catch the Airport Link bus to Auckland International Airport from here.
Rail: Connect to the Southern or Eastern lines from here.

If you are transferring onto an Auckland Transport service at Puhinui, the total journey from Rotokauri to Britomart in Auckland will take an estimated 2 hours 25 mins (subject to the transfer time).

Te Huia will not run on public holidays (actual or observed) and statutory days due to regular scheduled track maintenance.
